The greatest wealth transfer in U.S. history is underway. A recent study from the Boston College Center on Wealth and Philanthropy projects $59 trillion will be passed down to heirs, charities and taxes between 2007 and 2061. Several United Methodist ministries in the North Georgia Conference are participating in Georgia Gives Day on Nov. 13. Georgia Gives Day, a state-wide day of giving, raised more than $2.5 million for Georgia nonprofits in its first two years. The United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union (UMC FCU) is now accepting applications for the 2014 UMC FCU Scholarship. In an effort to include the UMC's many graduate students, the credit union has expanded the age eligibility to ages 17-35. The application must be received in UMC FCU offices by April 30, 2014. The North Georgia Conference has set up Fund Number 3743 to support the Conference Disaster Response for yesterday's storms. The title of this fund is Disaster Response - Tornado Winter 2013. Members can drop a check in any North Georgia UMC offering plate made out to the church with "Tornado Winter 2013" in memo line.
